The Story Of Clarice Ruehl

Clarice received a Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Bachelor of Social Work degree with a minor in psychology from Marquette University in 1983.  She received a Master of Social Work degree from Boston College in 1984. After graduation, she worked as a social worker at Legal Aid Society in Milwaukee County (children, probate, and family court divisions) and as a juvenile dispositional worker in Walworth County juvenile division before she entered law school back at Marquette University in 1985.  Upon graduating from law school in 1988, Clarice was in private practice for two years at general practice law firm in Brookfield before joining the Waukesha County District Attorney’s Office in 1990. During her eight-year stint at the Waukesha District Attorney’s Office, she was the lead prosecutor in the juvenile division, as well as prosecuting municipal and traffic cases.

After serving as an assistant district attorney, Clarice took a seven-year hiatus to raise three children.  In 2005 she founded Perkins Law Office LLC where she established a solo general practice of law specializing in juvenile, family, criminal, guardianship, and probate law. In 2022 Perkins Law Office LLC changed it's name to now Ruehl Law Office LLC.

Currently Clarice remains a member of the Wisconsin State Bar and the Waukesha County Bar Association.  She also serves as a teen court judge in the Waukesha County Teen Court Program and co-chairs the juvenile section and the mentor program through the Waukesha County Bar Association. Clarice also received mediation training through the Mediation Center of Wisconsin Community Services of Waukesha and has volunteered her mediation services at the center.
